2020 was possibly one of the worst years ever for the United States. Nearly all the companies and businesses in the country have been adversely affected by the dreaded Covid 19 corona virus. More than a third of a million people died, so far, from the disease, and millions may suffer long term medical problems from the after effects. The economy of the US, the most powerful economy in the world, nearly brought to its' knees due to the shutdown, layoffs and loss of people. It would take a good science fiction writer to conjure up a worse scenario for the country.
On a more personal level, millions of people have been put out of jobs by these company closures. At the end of the year, more than 20 million people are collecting unemployment, instead of earning their paychecks. Because of tens of thousands of companies that will not be able to start back up – and will be permanently closed, it will become a rat race for people to try to get back to where they were in their careers. Most people will not be able to just pick up their jobs where they left off. To add to the troubles, this entire years' graduating students, both high school and college will also be clambering for jobs.
Univent is a research and development organization. We take ideas and develop them into functioning reality. Given the dire situation many people find themselves facing now, we took on a project that is honestly a bit out of our normal world of endeavor. But we, like you, find ourselves in anything but a normal world.
